Every year, the human race strives towards the total eradication of diseases, with some great progress being made in the last 1000 or so years.
Setbacks do occur with mutations outwitting antibiotics, treatments and detection methods but most diseases are now more preventable than treatable.
Prevention occurs through vaccines, usually received as a youngster, and creates strong defences against the threats posed by these aforementioned diseases.
With recent focus being on linkages between autism and vaccine (which is still a very weird space, with more research being inconclusive) there is a bigger drive now, than ever, to abstain from vaccine use.
This means that any chance of eradicating previous- or current diseases becomes harder with time.
We’ve endured a pretty horrific past, with some extremely terrifying diseases.
